A-Z Challenge Infernally Informal

In the writing process, I immerse myself intensely in my surroundings to develop imaginative ideas for my writings. Looking outside, the flock of white ibis (or is it ibi?) stalk through my yard on their stilty legs looking for itty-bitty ibis (ibi) food.

An iridescent iguana suns himself near the canal on an icky looking rock. It’s an incredible and impressive sight, these natural images I gaze upon as I construct meaning with my words. One would infer that I would indulge in this imagery for my impending novel. But no, not I, the impulsive impostor.

My identity as a writer often depends on immature idiocy, with injections of implications of impetuous immodesty. My words seek not to impress, but are often imprudent, indelicate and somewhat indecorous. Indignity is imposed and inflicted upon the reader. My works are incessantly impaled with humor and laughter at my own imperfections and idiosyncracies. I am my own best idiotic character.

A-Z Challenge Hooked on Haiku

Like a hamster high-tailing it around the habitat wheel, I am hooked on haste, hypnotized to hack out halfway decent hard copy. Halfway through my hectic run, I am haggard and halfhearted as I hassle through the next cycle. Hindrances hijack my attention. Attempts become haphazard and somewhat hideous. Help! I go to... haiku.

     Hesitant Hiders

Ah! Heaven!

A-Z Good Grief

Good Grief, I am behind in my A-Z. Let's go with that theme for today. Excuses for not getting to writing.

     Germination has not arrived.

I Gambled on having time later...and lost.

     Everything I wrote was Garbage.

I need to Gain in confidence.

My house looks Ghastly and the Garden hose has a Geyser in it.

The cat peed in my Galoshes.

My Goal Gradually Gets farther and farther away.

My dialogue is not Genuine. My characters are Giddy. It's Grim.

I Growl, "Girl, Get thyself to the critique Group. Grow as a writer. I did.

     I've Got it!

A-Z Challenge - Editing, Ect.

Not too long ago, I read a self-published book with several hundred errors in it. I was appalled that this well-crafted story was not professionally edited. So I dedicated "E" Day to Editing.

It's an extreme effort to become enthusiastic about editing ones' work. Exhiliaration comes from excavating effective word choices and exciting events and ideas. Writing expressively often eclipses enthusiasm for the elusive editing endeavours that eventually need expanding.

Eradication of errors are extensively important. No exageration: embarassing efflux needs exclusion.

Engross your editing skills through exacting exposure of evidence in endless exerpts.

EDITING EXAM: Examine this entire elegant entry for eight editing errors. Can you eliminate them? Answers will be on tomorrow's blog, "F is For Flip-Flop."

A-Z Challenge Dicey Dialogue

The desire of dialogue is to drive the action along. Didactic drivel disguised as dialogue disgruntles and discourages the defenseless reader. Discriminating dialogue distinctly discloses depth of character-driven dramas.

Dare to deliberate upon dazzling degrees of dialogue:

Dog Dialogue- "Dumb Cat!"

Direction Dialogue- "Drive directly to Dugout Road and turn diagonally till discovering Dragonfly Drive. Then...

Descriptive Dialogue:
Farmer's Wife:  "Dang, Daniel, you smell like durned dog dung and dirt."
Prairie Woman: "Dottie was draped in doo-dads that disguised her dreary dirndl dress."

Unfinished Dialogue : Distraught Mother in a dither: "Don't dare display that discourteous disrespectful tone. I declare..."

Code Dialogue  "Damsel Disaster on 3" (Clean up on Aisle 3)

Debaters Dialogue: "Did too!"  "Did not!"  "Did too!"  "Did not!"

Demonic Dialogue: Question: "Do demons deal with dark dastardly diabolical devils?"
Answer: "Their deadly debauchery defies description. Put that in your  diseased death's head and rattle it. "

Desperate Dialogue of Debbie the Dramatic Diva during bedtime:  "A drop of drink before I die? I'm debilitated, and declining in fluids. You dare deny your daughter a drink?"

Dead End: Dare to dream. Don't dream to dare.

A-Z Challenge- Common Cliches

I "C" that it is crystal clear that I consider "C" as my controlling character. C... cliches. Common cliches cause chaos and should be avoided at all costs. Old conventional sayings that no longer bring any spice to one's writing should be cut (CHOP! CHOP!) from the writing piece and converted. Fresher comments and comparisons need to be considered for crucial commission of creative talent.

I have consulted with co-workers and collaborated on colorful cliches that can create clear concepts and charisma to old crappy customary writing. My Cliche Cache...

Clean crusty chimneys before they clean your clock. (Be prepared)
Calligraphy can charm cocky career criminals. (Even a criminal can be swayed by grace and good handwriting)
Chewy candy creates cavities. (You play, you pay.)
Characters command charisma.
Carry china carefully.
Chart calorie consumption.
Caterwauling... not just cats. (There are other whiners too)
Chastising chickens creates conflicted cluckers.
